Donald Trump declared victory in the 2024 presidential election while addressing a crowd of supporters in Florida. After winning Pennsylvania, a key swing state, Trump took the stage at his campaign’s watch party in West Palm Beach. Over the cheers from his supporters, he called his campaign the ‘greatest’ political movement and thanked them for helping him become both the 45th and now the 47th president.
With JD Vance, Melania Trump, and his campaign team standing beside him, Trump shared his enthusiasm for his renewed plan to ‘make America great again.’
“We have taken back control of the Senate,” he said to more applause. “Wow, that’s good.”
Trump called the outcome a ‘political victory,’ while the crowd chanted, “USA, USA, USA.”
Feeling confident about his party’s position, Trump also expressed hope about ‘keeping control of the House of Representatives.’
He spoke optimistically about leading the U.S. into what he described as a ‘golden age.’
“This is a magnificent victory for the American people, that will allow us to make America great again,” he added.
In the 2024 election, voters had a choice between two candidates with very different policies and visions for the country’s future.
Millions of Americans voted early, either by mail or in person before November 5. On Election Day, most voters had a smooth experience nationwide, though there were a few isolated issues, like long lines, minor technical glitches, and some ballot printing errors.
Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice president, aimed to become the first female president, promising to tackle economic challenges and work with Republicans on key issues.
Her approach differed from that of the outgoing president, Joe Biden.
Trump, who won in 2016 and then lost to Biden in 2020, ran on a promise to replace many federal workers with supporters of his MAGA movement.
Trump’s platform included plans to impose heavy tariffs on foreign countries and initiate a large-scale deportation effort.
As the campaign neared its end, both candidates concentrated on Pennsylvania, the biggest swing state, making it a key focus in the last days of their campaigns. Following his 2020 election loss, Trump had previously sought to dispute the results, an effort that ultimately led to the events of January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol.
