Jennifer Young, a 38-year-old rock music fan from Florida, is the mother of Dave Grohl’s child. She now lives in Los Angeles with their baby, and she confirmed this to The Post.
Young had a baby girl with the married Foo Fighters singer, 56, on August 1 last year. According to records from The Post, the baby has Grohl’s last name.
Young said that the former Nirvana drummer, who promised to be a “loving and supportive” parent when he admitted to the affair last fall, is the father of her child.
But when asked if Grohl was involved in the child’s life as he had promised, she told The Post, “I can’t comment.”
Young is raising the child in a small house with her mother in a green, tree-filled neighborhood in Los Angeles.
It’s not clear how often Grohl talks to Young, who has tattoos of Paul McCartney lyrics and the Metallica logo.
She has been seen pushing the baby in a stroller around Los Angeles. The baby, who is almost 7 months old, has even worn a helmet decorated with stickers of Elvis, Led Zeppelin, and Keanu Reeves.
Young, who has bottle-blonde hair similar to Grohl’s wife of 21 years, Jordyn Blum, was recently in New York City on Valentine’s Day. This was the same time Grohl was in town for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary show.
Young has not been seen in public with the singer of “Everlong.”
People have been wondering who the woman is since last September when he admitted on Instagram that he cheated on Blum and had a baby with someone else.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he wrote at the time. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
He added, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
It looks like almost all information about Young has been removed from the internet, with very little left about her job or social media.
Worried that Grohl’s fans might attack her and her baby, Young asked The Post not to share the child’s name.
“Protecting her identity is really important,” Young said, “because there’s some really angry fans.”
Grohl’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment on Friday.
News of Grohl’s affair shocked the music industry, ruining his long-time “good guy” image and deeply hurting his family. Sources told The Post that he and his 48-year-old wife, Blum, have had a hard time fixing their relationship.
She stopped wearing her wedding ring, and friends said she “didn’t trust” her husband.
The couple was seen together in Los Angeles on Feb. 11, just days before the singer and Young were both in New York City at the same time. It was the first time they had been seen together since the news about the baby came out.
Grohl and Blum have three daughters: Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10. After Grohl’s shocking confession, Violet deactivated her social media but returned a month later.
Grohl first got married in 1994 to Jennifer Youngblood, a photographer.
They broke up in 1997, and Grohl admitted that he had cheated on her.
People who know the mother of Grohl’s new baby were surprised to hear about the baby news.
“She was that girl in high school who was quiet, very pleasant, but not one of those who stood out,” said former classmate Chris Succi, who attended high school with her in 2005. “I feel like she was more into Gwen Stefani than Foo Fighters.”
“I can think of like 20 other girls who were more likely to have Dave Grohl’s baby.”
