Holly Willoughby Responds Following Phillip Schofield’s Remark On Channel 5 Show

Holly Willoughby has spoken out for the first time since it seemed that Phillip Schofield may have taken a swipe at her.

The former This Morning host, 43, posted on Instagram on Monday (September 30) after Phillip, who was let go from ITV, made his return to TV earlier this week. Schofield hadn’t been seen on television for 16 months, following his departure from both This Morning and ITV in May of last year.

Holly and Phillip were once key figures in the channel’s lineup, often co-hosting major shows like This MorningDancing on Ice, and the National Television Awards.

However, after Phil stepped down from the show, admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger male colleague, Holly seemed to move on. She continued hosting This Morning on her own until October, when she became the target of a kidnapping and murder plot by Gavin Plumb.

Phillip has made his first TV appearance since the controversy, featuring in Channel 5’s Cast Away. In the show, which had the former Cube host stranded off the coast of Madagascar for ten days, Phillip repeatedly criticized his former co-stars, claiming they didn’t support him during his difficult times.

However, it looks like Holly wasn’t watching, as she was out on the town on Monday night. She shared a series of photos from the theatre, where she was supporting her soap star friend Tamzin Outhwaite in her production of Abigail’s Party in Stratford.

Radiating happiness, Holly impressed fans as she hugged former soap star Tamzin, 53. The two kept their outfits casual, both wearing black tops that enhanced their stylish look.

Praising her friend, Holly called Tamzin “simply incredible” and encouraged her followers to see the play if they could, adding a red heart emoji and a link to purchase tickets. Meanwhile, Phillip appeared to take a jab at Holly during his Channel 5 show.

Holly made her comeback to This Morning two weeks after Phil departed from the show following his affair scandal. Speaking directly to the viewers, she said, “Firstly, are you okay? I hope so. It feels very strange sat here without Phil.”

On his new program, Phillip was at a family barbecue when he turned to his children and asked, “If you’re ok, then we’re ok, and I’m ok… are you ok?” Fans took this as a slight aimed at his former best friend, which only fueled the backlash he faced after the first of the three episodes aired.

Viewers flocked to social media to criticize the disgraced presenter, claiming that he showed no remorse for his actions. In contrast, Schofield seemed pleased with the response to the first episode, continuing to share cheerful posts on his social media with big smiles.
