Canadian actress and model Dayle Haddon has passed away at the age of 76.
The Solebury Township Police Department told Fox News Digital that her death is believed to be caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.
“The investigation indicates a faulty flue and exhaust pipe on a gas heating system caused the carbon monoxide leak,” the police report stated.
The Bucks County Coroner’s Office told Fox News Digital that the cause and manner of death will be “Pending Toxicology” until the test results are received and analyzed.
The Solebury Township Police Department responded to a call on Friday, December 27, 2024, around 6:31 a.m.
Bucks County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications got a call saying a man was lying unconscious on the first floor of a detached office or in-law suite, according to the police report.
The New Hope Lambertville Rescue Squad was the first to arrive and quickly removed a 76-year-old man from the building. Police confirmed that the man, who survived, was Walter Blucas. He is in critical condition at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Dayle Haddon was found unresponsive in bed on the second floor of the building and was pronounced dead.
The New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company also responded and found a high level of carbon monoxide at the property, according to the police report.
Two medics were taken to Doylestown Hospital for carbon monoxide exposure, and one Solebury Township police officer was treated at the scene.
The home belonged to Dayle Haddon’s daughter, Ryan Haddon, and her husband, Hallmark actor Marc Blucas, according to records.
The Solebury Township Police Department is currently investigating this case.
Authorities stressed that this tragic event is a strong reminder of the need for carbon monoxide safety measures in homes.
Dayle Haddon was born on May 26, 1948, in Canada.
At 13, she joined Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and became Miss Montreal when she was 18. During her modeling career,
Haddon signed contracts with four big cosmetic companies: Revlon, Max Factor, Estée Lauder, and L’Oréal, according to her website.
Haddon appeared on the cover of the 1973 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. She also starred in movies like Disney’s The World’s Greatest Athlete and North Dallas Forty alongside Nick Nolte.
Throughout her career, she was featured on the covers of magazines like Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan.
The model and actress also wrote the books “Ageless Beauty” and “The 5 Principles of Ageless Living.”
Haddon’s daughter, Ryan, honored her late mother in a heartfelt social media post.
“The bright light that is Dayle has dimmed in this Earthly realm. Shining somewhere as radiantly as ever where it’s most needed, I have no doubt,” Ryan wrote on Instagram.
“She was a woman in her power, yet soft and attentive to all. Deeply creative and curious, gifted with beauty inside and out. Always kind and thoughtful,” she added.
Ryan ended the post with, “A pure heart. A rich inner life. Touching so many lives. A life well lived. Rest in Light, Mom.”
Ryan also shared a selection of photos of her mom’s magazine covers and her work as an ambassador for the humanitarian aid organization UNICEF.
