At 96, Queen Elizabeth departed from this life on September 8, 2022. Her coffin was carried to Wellington Arch throughout the streets of London. After that, it traveled to Windsor, where the hearse stopped at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel.
After King Charles placed his mother’s Grenadier Guards Company Camp Colour on her coffin, Lord Chamberlain broke the Wand of Office and set it aside. The visitors sang “God Save the King” as the coffin was lowered into the Royal Vault.
The Queen is interred in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle beside her parents, sister Princess Margaret, and husband Phillip. A $200 million funeral and burial were reportedly paid for.
The Queen’s cause of death and its circumstances remained largely undisclosed. It was even alleged that the Scottish government agency was impeding attempts by outsiders to obtain her death certificate. Ultimately, towards the end of September, her cause of death was recorded as “old age.”‘
Even after the official cause of death was announced, many people had unanswered doubts. The royal author Gyles Brandreth went into more detail. He talked about how she had struggled with fatigue, weight loss, and mobility during her senior year. Myeloma, or cancer of the bone marrow, was the cause, he added.
He claimed that the most typical sign of multiple myeloma is bone pain, particularly in the lower back and pelvis. Elderly people are frequently affected by myeloma. Although there isn’t a known cure at this time, treatment can lessen the severity of the condition’s symptoms and increase the patient’s survival time by months or two to three years. These treatments include immune system regulators and medications that assist prevent the weakening of the bones.
According to other accounts, she saw doctors less often in her last year because of discomfort and mobility problems. She was never seen in a wheelchair in photos.
Robert Joobson, a royal scholar and author, explained that a military-style exercise was implemented at her request to ensure that no one would notice she was using a wheelchair. Her Majesty was wheeled to the helicopter pad at Windsor in a wheelchair, much to her pain.
She was wheeled up to the balcony doors at the Palace and assisted in standing up, using a walking stick, so that she could join William and his family as well as Charles and Camilla.
Following a display of fireworks, the Queen grinned with joy. She was giving her people her farewell salute.
In the weeks preceding her death, one source also mentioned how her hearing and vision had deteriorated. They stated that the Queen endured great anguish throughout the later years of her life, especially after her husband passed away [in April 2021].
Naturally, things became much worse in the last few months; by the time of the Platinum Jubilee, she was easily confused and had limited vision, and hearing.
She did not spend much time away from her Windsor Castle lodgings. It took a tremendous effort to appear on the balcony of Windsor Castle for the Jubilee.
