The accolades and awards keep coming in for talented actress, singer, and dancer, Taylour Paige, who has now gone on to voice work on one of her latest projects, Astra. The voice cast included such heavy hitters as Jessica Chastain, Patti Smith, and Millie Bobby Brown. The Daren Aronofsky-produced film won the VR Grand Prize at the Venice Film Festival and broke a 2018 record at the Sundance Film Festival with a seven-figure deal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Accolades Keep Rolling in for Paige:
Taylour Paige is a unique performer because she is multi-talented. She started her training as a dancer at just two years of age. That training led her to try out for several TV commercials; she landed work for some big-time brands, including Transamerica and McDonald’s. In 2008, she secured a role in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, where she appeared as a featured dancer.
Her career was elevated even more when she was chosen for the leading role in the TV series, Hit the Floor, which she was in from 2013 until 2016. After leaving the show, she appeared in Jean of the Joneses. This was a comedy written by Stella Meghie, who also directed and co-produced the film. The film premiered at South by Southwest and had a limited release in 2016 by Search Engine Films. It garnered two awards at the 5th Canadian Screen Awards and was nominated for awards at the 17th Black Reel Awards and 32nd Independent Spirit Awards.
In 2018, Paige had a supporting role in White Boy Rick and made appearances in both Grey’s Anatomy and Ballers. But it wasn’t until 2020 that Paige got her breakthrough role in Zola. Again, the performances of Taylour Page and Riley Keough stood out, with Paige winning the Independent Spirit Award for the Best Female Lead.
Following up on this win, Paige took on the role of Gussie Mae in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. According to RogerEbert.com, the cast and performances received great reviews. She has gone on to land roles in The Toxic Avenger and the Eddie Mercury film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. In 2024, we can expect to see her in the comedy film Brothers and the dark film The Trainer.
