Sensitivity has always been a part of human interactions, often requiring others to tread carefully with their words. This need for caution has become even more pronounced in the era of social media, where countless individuals can voice their opinions and share their feelings about various topics.
One person familiar with the intense scrutiny that comes with this is Narinder Kaur, a panelist on Good Morning Britain. Recently, Kaur made headlines after sharing her thoughts about Kate Middleton, sparking backlash from the public.
The incident occurred on November 10, following the reposting of a Daily Mail article about Kate Middleton attending the Remembrance Sunday Service. In response, Kaur made a comment about Middleton’s appearance, specifically addressing her aging. Her remarks quickly attracted criticism, with many taking to social media to express their disapproval.
It looks like the original tweet was deleted, but screenshots are still being shared online. This shows that once something is posted on the internet, it’s nearly impossible to erase it completely.
Narinder Kaur seemed genuinely curious when she asked, “Genuine question-why has Kate aged so much?Isn’t she only 42? Is she a smoker? It’s the only explanation.”
Her comments caused an immediate and strong reaction from people online. Some called her heartless and vile, while others described her remarks as the most “reprehensible attack on a woman battling cancer imaginable.”
In response to the backlash, Narinder made some follow-up comments to address the criticism.
Most people back down when the internet turns against them, but Narinder didn’t shy away and responded directly to the criticism.
For instance, when someone commented, “I hope you look better than that when you get cancer,” Narinder replied, “That’s disgusting. It was a genuine question. My brother had cancer and died. He didn’t age. Why be so despicable?”
She also expressed that she felt some of the attacks against her were because of her skin color.
Even though many people disagreed with her, Narinder stood by her opinion. She later shared a follow-up video to explain her point further.
