When Jamie Lee Curtis Reads Messages From Halloween Fans, She Starts Crying

The American horror series Halloween consists of thirteen films in addition to graphic novels, comic books, video games, and other media.

A lot of people saw it because of its notorious antagonist, Michael Myers.

The enemy is shown to be pure evil; he uses a chef’s knife to murder people and conceals his identity by donning coveralls and a mask.

Curtis has been in multiple Halloween films as the well-known Laurie Strode.

Her depiction of Strode is regarded as the classic example of a “final girl,” a female lead who survives a movie’s monster or killer but is not the other character.

With every performance the actress gave as Strode, fans fell in love with her and the role.

The actress, who gained popularity from the franchise, has since acted in more than 54 movies and established herself as a mainstay in Hollywood.

In a People column, Curtis discussed her experiences as Strode and noted the lessons the role instilled in her, including “resilience,” “loyalty,” “perseverance,” and “courage.”

“Throughout the years, I have attempted to incorporate those facets of Laurie’s persona into my own, to take on that responsibility and honor those who have endured unspeakable terror and trauma, anguish and suffering, and who resist oppression and tyranny—both real and imagined,” the author said.

Curtis recently took on the role again when Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills (2021), and Halloween Ends (2022) filmmaker David Gordon Green revived the horror classic.

Halloween Ends was the last movie in the series, hence it was the last time Curtis played the beloved character.

It was a difficult moment for Curtis and the supporters as it was coming to a close.

Curtis sat and listened to positive words from followers in a video posted to the Halloween Ends Instagram page.

“The greatest final girl in the world,” exclaimed one individual.

“Such an iconic, formative scream queen,” another person said.

A third said to the actress, “You mean a lot to myself and horror fans and film fans worldwide.”

Curtis burst into tears as she stated, “Thank you guys,” after hearing the touching remarks.

“Turn this f***ing off, I can’t… It’s obviously hard, all of it is hard saying goodbye and nobody wants to say that. So, I won’t say that.”

She continued: “I am just going to say thank you.

“It’s a legacy that I’m very, very proud is attached to me and one that I treat with a lot of respect. So, Happy Halloween everybody, God bless you all. Thank you for everything.”
